Safety/Best Practices

Safetyinformation

All Lamps offered in this shop are thoroughly tested one by one but please be aware that they are handmade and that the electronics are handsoldered by me not industrially fabricated so please be aware of that when handling them. Also Resin/FDM printing prints in layers so it might be possible to break of pieces so please keep away from children so they don't bite off pieces. To ensure longevity and safety please always use them with a good USB supply, cheap USB wall adaptors may damage or cause malfunction in the product/LEDs used.

Best Practices

Possible Risks of 3D printed,USB powered LED Lamps:
  • Use only good quality Power adaptor with all the safety seals present, avoid old power adaptors and/or adaptors that have bent/broken off parts/contacts
  • Use only USB Power adapters with the supplied USB adaptor cable. Do NOT use the circular power input on its own to minimize risk of damaging the product. USB Standard ensures full functionality and longevity of the product. Use Poweradaptor fitting to your countries electric standarts
  • Don’t give to children under the age of 6. In case of crystal tower don’t give to children at all. keep away from animals
  • Place lamps on a solid secure platform, out of reach from children and animals
  • Keep away from hot/heated surfaces like directly above a heater to prevent material bending and/or deforming

  • Wrong voltage/Ampere: USB Standard prevents Wrong voltage. But since usb Cable is only adaptor for a circular powerplug other voltages can be applied. To strong voltage lead to brighter/warmer LEDs as long as the Voltage was within 5-22v (as specified by manufacturer of LED strip and controller) Higher Values led to “burning” of the strip meaning the destruction of the strip due to the LEDs and microprocessors getting overexposed and thereby destroying themselves. No possible harm to the consumer if they don’t strip every insulation and touch the chip directly. Only result of overpower is non-functional LED strip. Lower power results in LED strip not powering on properly, no further risk

  • Overheating: Tested in enclosed chamber over 24hrs with multiple USB Lamps, especially Soulvessel Lamp developed highest heat (due to design) but never exceeded 40C. Result: No possible harm or combustion risk, Material is not likely to bend/fault due to extra epoxy sealing and melting point way above 60°C. Also Resin printed parts don’t bend but start to crumble.

  • Bending/deforming of PLA Parts: Mostly risk to functionality of product. If Product is suspect of heat above 65°C for prolonged time it can start to bend like Candles in the direct summer sun.
  • Temperatures above 130°C will definitely start to deform the product if it’s not a Epoxy coated part.
  • Breaking/swallowing/selfhurt on hard edges: Most Lamps have hard edges and all of them have hard surfaces and with considerable force it is possible in some cases to break of parts that are small enough to swallow. Please do not under no circumstances swallow any pieces as they contain possibly toxic materials/plastics, please refer to medical professional if you ingested pieces.
  • The Hyth/Hades Lamp poses the highest risk of small parts breaking of that could be swallowed by children/Pets due to the amount of thin Resin printed parts. Please keep away from them
  • Especially the Crystaltower Lamp proved to be the most dangerous to stabbing due to the design being that of a very pointy solid structure with multiple additional pointy
